The Dharma Drum Humanities & Social Improvement Foundation (DDHSIF) is a non-profit organization founded in Taiwan by the renowned international Chinese buddhism teacher and chan Master Sheng Yen in 1999.
Mission
¡ETo promote the socialization of humanities and the humanization of society; to uplift the character of humanity and build a pure land on earth.
¡ETo enlighten the human and change people's ways of thinking through the study of the humanities and social sciences; aim to purify society through the purification of the human heart.
¡ETo actively help create a social culture and encourage all parts of society to take part in social improvement.
¡ETo promote "Spiritual Environmental Protection" efforts in the international community and work for the benefit of human society.

¡· Promoting the Core Values of "Spiritual Environmental Protection"
Actively promote Master Sheng Yen's ideals of "Spiritual Environmental Protection" and "Humanities Concern" into the international community.
¡· Promoting the Humanities and Social Education
The Commemorative Scholarships
Encourage people in society to use money for festivities and commemorative events for educational scholarships instead.
The Community Colleges
¡EEstablish community colleges in all regions to provide comprehensive education.
¡ECommunity colleges now operating in Jinshan, Dasi, Taichung and Beitou.
The Humanities & Social Sciences Lecture Courses
Invite international gurus to give speeches that sow the seeds of the humanities. Schools on both sides of the strait are involved: In Taiwan, the National Taiwan University, the National Cheng Kung University and the Asia University are included., The Tsinghua University, the Beijing University, the Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou and the Nanjing University are amongst partners in mainland China.
